How to play Hangman Hollow

Hangman Hollow is two-player hangman: one player secretly types a word (4–12 letters), and the other guesses it one letter at a time. Every wrong letter adds a piece to the hanging vine — six misses and the round goes to the word-setter; solve the word first and the round goes to the guesser. Roles swap every round, and the first player to three round wins takes the match. On one device, the guesser looks away while the word goes in. Tips & strategy

• Open with vowels — nearly every English word contains at least one of E, A, O, or I — then move to the workhorse consonants R, S, T, N, L.
• Read the pattern, not just the letters. _ _ E and a revealed N late in the word suggest common endings like -ING, -ION, or -ED.
• When setting words, short doesn't mean safe: 4–5 letter words with rare letters and few vowels (like "lynx" or "gnome") are far harder than long ordinary ones.
• Avoid setting words with repeated common letters — every E you include is a free hint the moment it's guessed once.
• Track misses out loud in your head: with six allowed, spend early guesses on information (vowels, S, R, T) and late guesses only on letters the pattern truly supports.
